Other times we go to movies. Some of the movies we go to are kind of sad, but sometimes we go to funny ones. This one time my friends and I went to the movies. During the movie, we saw our algebra book in the movie and one of my friends was like look there is our algebra book. It made my friends laugh. Most of the time my friends dare me to go up to random people and start talking to them. I think that is why I am so outgoing. Whenever we see one of the people I have talked to before, they are like “look, there is your buddy from where they live”. It just makes me laugh. Sometimes we play hide-and-seek. Without friendship we are alone and helpless. When I was in elementary school I was a very quiet, shy kid who didn’t make friends and stayed by himself. Had it not been for young Caroline I would have been alone all of elementary school. She was a pretty little girl who loved to take me to see her horses when I had nothing else to do. We would play in our toy house and I reluctantly gave into her attempts to play house and dress-up for the simple reason I had nothing better to do. Caroline has been with me for many years of my life and it always feels good to know you have someone there with you. Now we are in adolescence and we face trials in high school, which can sometimes be extremely difficult. Without loyal friends I would have no one to help me study and endure my classes, endure rigorous swim practices with me, and always be there for you emotionally. Without friends your first day walking through the looming front doors of your new high school would be virtually unbearable and terrorizing. With friends you have a seemingly meaningful purpose when you go in, prepare for class with those good friends you have kept through elementary school. These trying times can put emotional strain on young minds that may not necessarily be able to take it, as I believe I would have suffered had it not been for my friends. The power of friendship builds bonds and carries you through your trials in life, which can lead you to unbelievable heights in life such as President. This is how the power of friendship has and is affecting me. It saved me from emotional strain, which children in my school like Chris suffered from, and those children eventual have a self-destructive breakdown even though most are not as bad as Chris’ breakdown was. He attempted to destroy our school because of the lack of friends and the amount of bullying he experienced daily. Had it not been for an amazing police officer stopping him before harm was done to any children we would have been hurt tremendously. The power of friendship saves children who otherwise would suffer like Chris did and that power is saving me every day of my life. That is why I believe in the power of friendship. Because of my timid, introverted, and closed personality, I often built a wall around myself and kept people at arm’s length. When I was in a college, I had to live far from my family. To communicate with my family, I had my blog as a way, but it was difficult to describe the emptiness and loneliness I had. One day I received a letter from my mother, who asked me how I was; I could not but feel homesick and burst into tears.
